Funded jointly by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Cable and Wireless College, this programme offers a minimum of 8 awards to Chinese professionals working in the Telecommunications industry of the People's Republic of China. Candidates can apply to the MSc in Communications Management. The MSc in Communications Management covers; The Telecommunications Environment and Markets, Strategic Business Planning in Telecommunications, Financial Modeling for Telecommunications, Managing People and Technology in a Competitive Environment and The Purpose and Impact of Regulation. Awards are for no longer than 12 months and are tenable at Strathclyde University. Criteria for Eligibility
Applicants MUST: be no younger than 26 and no older than 45 on 1st January 2002; be mid-career staff (with a minimum of 3 years working experience) who has managerial, policy-influencing or decision-making responsibilities; possess the following 'Chevening' qualities: must have ambition and drive be of leadership potential show a commitment to change and organisational development be flexible and adaptable be innovative and creative have an ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances; not only in technical and professional terms but also culturally. have a good working level of English is essential (demonstrated by an IELTS test result, TOEFL is not accepted as an alternative).
Start date: January 2003 Application deadline: 31 August 2002 IELTS: Applicants are preferred to submit their IELTS scores together with their CV. For those who has no ready IELTS score, if they pass the shortlist against CVs, they will need to sit IELTS on 12 October 2002. The British Council will book the test for 12/10 for them and the applicants should pay for the test fee. |
