Adelaide University offers a comprehensive scholarships scheme for international students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate study in 2002.
一.UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
1.THE ADELAIDE SCHOLARSHIPS INTERNATIONAL (ASI) Up to 6 prestigious scholarships may be available to outstanding international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline*. Benefits are payment of full tuition fees plus an annual living allowance of $10,000 for the normal duration of the program.
2.THE ADELAIDE ACHIEVER SCHOLARSHIPS INTERNATIONAL (AASI) Up to 5 Adelaide Achiever Scholarships may be available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline*. Benefits are payment of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
Up to 13 Adelaide Achiever Scholarships may be available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline*. Benefits are payment of 50% tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
Up to 10 Adelaide Achiever Scholarships may be available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline*. Benefits are payment of 25% tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
* Scholarships awarded to students undertaking the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery program are only available for the first four years.
3.THE SEPANG INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIPS A limited number of scholarships for students transferring to Adelaide University after completing two years at the Sepang Institute of Technology (SIT). Benefits are payment of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
4.THE INTI COLLEGE MALAYSIA SCHOLARSHIPS A limited number of scholarships for students transferring to Adelaide University from INTI College Malaysia. Benefits are payment of 10% of the full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program.
5.THE SINGAPORE POLYTECHNICS PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE Up to 48 scholarships will be available for meritorious diploma holders from Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Singapore and Temasek Polytechnics who enrol in Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Computer Science programs at Adelaide University.
Benefits are a 30% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the program, two years for the engineering degrees and one year for a Computer Science degree.
6.THE ADELAIDE HONOURS SCHOLARSHIPS (INTERNATIONAL) Approximately 10 scholarships may be available to meritorious international students who intend to undertake their honours year in any discipline at Adelaide University. Benefits are payment of one-half of the full tuition fee. Students completing undergraduate degrees at other Australian universities are encouraged to apply for these scholarships.
二.POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
1.THE ADELAIDE SCHOLARSHIPS INTERNATIONAL (ASI) Up to 6 prestigious scholarships may be available to outstanding international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline. Benefits are payment of full tuition fees plus an annual living allowance of $17,267 for the normal duration of the program.
2.INTERNATIONAL POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS (IPRS) Approximately 12 scholarships may be available for international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in areas of University research strengths. Benefits are payment of full tuition fees plus an annual living allowance of $17,267 for the normal duration of the program.
3.THE ADELAIDE POSTGRADUATE COURSEWORK SCHOLARSHIPS INTERNATIONAL (APCS) Up to 7 scholarships may be available to outstanding international students from any country to undertake a postgraduate degree by coursework in any academic discipline. Benefits are payment of 50% tuition fees plus an annual living allowance of $10,000 for up to two years.
4.MBA SCHOLARSHIPS Up to 3 scholarships may be available to outstanding international students from any country undertaking the Master of Business Administration (Advanced) program. Benefits are a payment of $5,000.
APPLICATIONS PROCESS
There is no separate application process for any of the above scholarships (except for the Adelaide Honours Scholarships International). An application for admission to the University in 2002 will constitute an application for a scholarship. All applications for admission consistent with the eligibility and selection criteria will be considered automatically for a scholarship.
An application fee of $50 must accompany the application for admission. This fee is waived for applications made through an IDP Education Australia office, or a nominated University representative overseas. The deadlines for receipt of applications and complete supporting documentation are:
Undergraduate (including Honours) for academic programs commencing Term I, 2002 1 December 2001 for academic programs commencing Term II, 2002 30 April 2002
Postgraduate (including IPRS) for academic programs commencing Terms I & II, 2002 31 August 2001
Successful postgraduate scholarship recipients will be informed in December 2001 and undergraduate scholarship recipients in January and May 2002.
Conditions
Scholarships will be awarded strictly on academic merit. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible for any of the above scholarships. Candidates are required to enrol in Adelaide University as "international students" and must maintain "international student" status for the duration of their enrolment in the University. Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status are ineligible to apply. All scholarships are available for the normal duration of the program, subject to satisfactory progress. All successful recipients will be required to pay their own Overseas Student Health Cover each year. Scholarships holders must commence study in Adelaide University in 2002.
